Therapy

Individuals, couples, and families

We offer in-person and online therapy for individuals, couples, and families using The Goodfield Method™. No work will be started without setting a goal and a clear contract on what to achieve in that session.

The Non-Verbal Leak™ (NVL) is our entry point. Because stress is an essential factor in unconscious behavior, the NVL™ is an indicator and predictor of a person’s behavior under stress (listen to Dr. Goodfield explain how he discovered the NVL). Also watch the interview with Rick Nieman for more explanation about the NVL.

Not only does the NVL show the unconscious in the face, but it is also reflected in the total body movement. The unconscious when seen in the total body movement is called the Body Non-Verbal Leak™ or BNVL. It too is observable and discernible as a unique statement of the unconscious process of that individual.

Any Perceived Traumatic Event™ (PTE) requires a re-evaluation of the here-to-foreseen adaptive strategy. Memories and emotions are stored throughout our bodies. If we are not able to express our emotions during a traumatic experience, if our need for discharge, comfort, safety, and recognition is not fulfilled, then the memory remains in our system as a cramp or blockage. Watch the video about the research that shows this.

Violent events such as an accident, the unexpected loss of someone we love, or physical violence, often leave deep observable traces, emotionally and physically.

The unique NVL will be identified and presented to the client. The NVL will be matched to one of the 12 Goodfield Personality Types. The characteristics of that personality type will result in a treatment plan to resolve the perceived trauma of the individual. This accelerates the resolution of the issue in the therapy process.

Through the Non-Verbal Leak™ and Body Non-Verbal Leak™, we’ll go to the origin of the issue and its impact on the body and strategy.

When necessary a family member or trusted friend can be invited to join the session.
